Where Are We Now? Hugo Cabret Summary

Hello My Young Explorers-

As you know, we have been reading Hugo Cabret.  We have added words to go with the image parts of the book and created images to go with the text parts of the book.

After each read aloud we have had a wonderful, rich discourse about the text.  I want to expand our talks on the rug to the blog.  I need to make sure that you all have a good understanding of the plot so far.  So please reply back to me with a detailed summary of Hugo Cabret.

This is not a time for predictions.  What do we KNOW has happened?  As you write, remember the parts of fiction: plot, character, problem/solution, and setting.  These should all be part of your answer to me.  I can’t wait to hear!

Thank you!  This has been so much fun so far!

What is a picture worth?

Hello Class 3206-

As you know in the Hugo Cabret text, the author uses both text and images to move the plot forward. Therefore, it is very important that you know how to “read” each picture.

It has been said that, “A picture is worth a thousand words.” What does that mean to you?

I can’t wait to hear your brilliant responses!

Beth and Seth (a rhyming couplet poem) by Melissa

There once was a woman named Beth
And a man named Seth.

They were happy, but one time they woke up in the night
And found that Death was in there room and broke the light.

Beth died, but Seth went to her tomb
And prayed that he would see her soon.

harry potter book (4th year)

I just finished this Harry Potter book. It is 734 pages long. Ron keeps saying “blank blank Harry. Whats going on?” (Ron said a bad word so I can’t tell you.) I wonder whats wrong with Ron because he keeps saying the same sentence over and over and over and over again every single time something weird happens to Harry. Hermione is the smartest one in the group of the three. (Harry, Ron, and Hermione.) Hermione is the smartest one in the group of the three because she doesn’t play in the back of the class with FAKE WANDS!!!!!
