How To Make French Cream Mint Brownies ,by Margarita


If you like mint-chocolate, you’ve got to try these!


1 c. sugar

1 c. butter, softened and divided

4 eggs

16-oz. can chocolate syrup

1 c. all-purpose flour

1/2 t. baking power

2 c. powder sugar

2 t. milk

1 t. peppermint

2 to 3 drops green food coloring


Cream sugar and 1/2 cup butter together; blend in eggs, chocolate syrup, flour and baking powder. Pour batter into a greased jelly-roll pan; bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Place in refrigerator until cool. Blend together remaining butter and powdered sugar in a mixing bowl.Blend in milk, peppermint extract and food coloring. Spread mixture evenly over chocolate layer; refrigerate until firm. Pour frosting evenly over mint layer.  Chill until no longer shiny. Cut into squares and refrigerate until firm. Makes 2 to 3 dozen.


1/2 c. butter

6-oz. pkg.chocolate chips.

Helpful hints:

Melt butter and chocolate chips over low heat in a saucepan.  Stir constantly just until melted.
